Diver & Surfer Strategy 2026
Coral Triangle Insurers
A strategy for bringing dive schools and surfing communities into the Coral Triangle insurers campaign: communities that already have an emotional and economic relationship with reef health.

Context
Dive schools train thousands of people every year, including people who may work for companies connected to campaign targets. Reef health is also directly tied to their livelihoods: if visibility worsens, biodiversity disappears and reefs decline, eventually there is less to dive for and less business.
Tension
The strategy goes beyond asking dive schools to simply share the campaign. It looks at how they could help divers understand the relationship between reef protection, LNG expansion, insurance and ocean health.
Role
Campaign strategy
Approach
Potential routes: short educational campaign videos embedded into mandatory diver e-learning; in-person workshops through dive schools; engaging professional divers and instructors; actions that go beyond familiar beach-cleaning activities; using the strong social networks of diving and surfing communities to build campaign power.
